A letter of promise to my daughter,
I will make a lot of promises. As I have raised your brother, I have learned that I will not always completely fulfill all of the promises I make. I often fall short of the expectations I have for myself as a mother. But there are several of those promises that I will keep at the forefront of my mind as you join our family.
When I found out I would become a mother for the second time, I started making promises to you. For now, all of the promises fall on me. As you’ve developed during my pregnancy, your health and well-being has been solely my responsibility. Your precious life relies on the promises that I make and keep before you are even born. None of these promises feel like an obligation, but, instead, a privilege. The privilege of being a mother, your mother, is an honor worth a world of promises.
But a whole new set of promises will be made once you come into this world.
Some of those promises will evolve as you do. Before you’re even able to communicate through spoken word, I promise to listen. Your body, your skin, your movements; all of them hold messages that I promise to do my best to understand. Understanding what your body needs includes choosing the best products as I care for you. Having trusted Pampers as your brother grew, I know I can count on the Pampers Premium diapers to be gentle on your sensitive, newborn skin.
Even as our family changes, there will be promises that will remain constant. No matter what stage of development, I promise to cherish the milestones and stay present in the moments we share together. I will encourage you and celebrate by your side as you achieve goals throughout the different stages of your life.
There is one promise that is, and will always be, greater than all of the rest. I promise to love you. With your life as a steady reminder of the honor I have been given as your mother, my promise to love you is one I know I will never fail to keep.
At times, there will be promises of which I will fall short. I will get caught up in moments of frustration, distraction or anger, and I will temporarily lose sight of the promises that I have made. I’ve created a canvas with one of my favorite quotes about motherhood to serve as a visual reminder of my #MothersPromise to listen, cherish and love you unconditionally.
“No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you are the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside.”
I cannot wait to meet you and to start sharing these promises with you. I love you, sweet girl.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with Pampers and Walmart to create this blog post. I honestly love the Pampers Premium Care diapers from Walmart. My babes have sensitive skin just like their mama. These diapers are hypoallergenic, have a unique absorb away liner, and are breathable inside and out. It was such a wonderful exercise for me to write a few of my promises that I will make continue to make as I become a mother of two. I truly am so fortunate to already have one kind, loving and healthy child, and we cannot wait to meet this little one in April.
I encourage all mothers reading this post to share their own #MothersPromise in the comments below. Regardless of how long you have been a mom, we can all learn from each other. As moms, let’s continue to encourage one another to keep our #MothersPromise at the forefront of our minds.

I promise to live in the moment and be present with my girls. It’s actually mind blowing to me how much the electronic world has taken over. It is scary. I promise to choose my girls over my phone every time. I promise to use my phone to take pictures and capture memories, but not distract me from making those memories.
I also promise to be attentive, interactive, and as loving as I can. I also promise to discipline with respect. All I really want to do is raise my two girls to be strong, independent, respectable women. I promise to do my absolute best to make that happen!
