You know those people in your life that are really challenging to find gifts for? Well I swear half of my family and friends fall into this category.
Sometimes I like to shift my focus away from gifting ‘things’ and opt for gifting ‘experiences.’ This year as Mother’s Day approached and my little sister’s high school graduation crept up on the calendar, I started looking for something I could do with some of my favorite ladies – something we could enjoy together.
I found the perfect gifted experience in an AR Workshop class.
If you’re not familiar with AR Workshop, the concept is around building wood signs during any of their daily classes. You get to literally show up and they have everything you need ready for you upon your arrival – from stencils and paint to the wood and nail gun (there’s a story about the nail gun coming). 😉
You pre-select the sign you would like to make when you complete the online registration process. Each class has plenty of creative and helpful instructors working alongside you to help guide you through the project. Oh and added bonus: you’re welcome to indulge in some wine or other adult beverages during the class. 😉
For Mother’s Day, I invited my sweet mama, my mother-in-law and my two sisters to join in on the class. We had so much fun chatting and getting creative together.
The class itself lasted about three hours and at the end you take home a piece that you designed and created all on your own.
We shared countless laughs, helped one another throughout each step of the class and we all agreed it wouldn’t be our last AR Workshop class together.
While I would absolutely encourage you to do a class with your mama, sisters, gal pals, work group or even with your significant other for date night, you are able to simply visit the store to purchase a sign that one of the instructors has created for you. You’re also able to request a custom order online that one of their staff members is willing to make for you.
Worried you can’t handle a class like this? Well I’m here to tell you that you can and that even the least crafty people can be successful. In fact: I had a little ‘oops’ with the nail gun and those sweet ladies at AR Workshop helped me repair the damage I had done. You would never know I had tried to sabotage my own project. 😉
Our AR Workshop class was such an unforgettable craft experience. Not only did I learn how to use a power tool with some of my favorite women, but we all have something beautiful to display in our homes to remind us of the day we shared.
