We spent this last weekend celebrating our sweet little girl’s first birthday. I am still in total shock at how quickly the year has gone! It has seemed like the fastest year of our lives.
I thought about why it felt like it went so much faster than the first year of Carsten’s life (I thought his first birthday came fast but… woah Blakely!) I have certainly been conscious about living in the moments and soaking up all of the memories all while chasing a four-year-old around! Watching Carsten become a big brother has been one of the best parts of Blakely’s first year of life. They love each other so much and it is the cutest.
Weekends like this last one remind me of how incredibly blessed I am to have such an amazing family. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t thank God for my happy and health children. My hubby is so supportive and the absolute best dad. We are also so fortunate that both of our extended families live so close and are able to attend birthday parties, soccer games and accommodate even the most random visits. My heart was so full all weekend.
I thought it would be fun to share the decor for Miss B’s birthday party! When I found her birthday banner I centered the rest of the decorations around it and went for a garden party theme. I tend to host birthdays as a brunch. It makes the food so easy and who doesn’t love a good brunch! (As long as it includes mimosas 😉 )
I love how it turned out! I kept it so simple but it was so stinking cute.
We’re gearing up for another busy weekend! My youngest sister is headed to prom which I am honestly so excited about because I couldn’t attend last year. I had a pretty good excuse: I had just had a baby about three days prior. 😉
We are also looking forward to another one of Carsten’s soccer games. He has so much fun with it and Max has become quite the coach. I’m also hoping to shoot some new content for the blog! I’ve made some pretty great purchases for summer that I can’t wait to share with you.
Please send good vibes our way as we rip our upstairs bathroom apart as we prepare for the renovation. It’s going to be so fun but I’m slightly anxious. If you have any tips/things to avoid in the process… let us know!
