Weekend wear during the summer months is often thought of as a good pair of jean shorts paired with any breathable (and of course adorable) top. But my favorite comfy weekend look includes no pants. Instead: I’m all about a cotton skirt that keeps me cool but casual.
I recently found this one (for under $23!) and I absolutely love the button down detail! The button front trend on skirts has been around for quite some time but it was often seen on mini skirts for fall/winter. While I enjoyed that look, this midi length is much more “mom-on-the-go” friendly. I can’t be worrying about the length of my skirt… I need to worry about if I haven’t lost all of my children and if I brought enough Cheerios along on our weekend outings. 😉
This skirt style also super flattering on a wide variety of body types! The back of this skirt is elastic so it’s incredibly comforatalbe. Having it sit at the natural waist also gives any shape some complimenting definition.
I paired this new midi skirt with a simple white tank and sandals for our trip out to Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery for Mother’s Day last weekend! We try to get out to this gorgeous location several times a year, not only for the views, live music and unmatched wines, but also because it’s near and dear to our hearts as it’s where Max and I got married. If you’re ever in the area, you absolutely must make a trip out to see this stunning place… and of course sample their line-up of AMAZING wines. (My personal favorites are Sun Dog and Brianna!)
While the casual skirt look doesn’t work for all weekend plans (no way would I wear this to one of Carsten’s infamous soccer games), it’s certainly fun to mix it up and try something different than the typical weekend wear. And given this entire look is under $100… it’s worth giving it a try, ladies!
