Whether you’re working from home or from an office, there’s nothing better than feeling comfortable and inspired in the space where you’re getting sh*t done. It doesn’t matter if you work part-time or full-time, we spend so much time working that the space where you do it all should be thoughtful and optimized to serve your creativity.
As a first-born child, I’ve always loved staying organized so my number one must-have for my own work space is defining places for everything to go. I need to know where to find things and a clear place to store things away at the end of the day. Leaving my desk tidy before heading home makes coming back into the office so much easier.
I have a few go-to places for desk organization including Home Goods, T.J. Maxx, Target and Amazon. I like to keep things like notebooks, a few files and pens within reach. I keep larger things like binders and files that I don’t need as often tucked away. Keeping as much desk clear as possible is key to feeling like your space is clean.
Speaking of files and notebooks, I look to places like Rifle Paper Co., Fringe {a brand usually found at T.J. Maxx, Home Goods and on Amazon} and Target for the majority of these items. Fresh pens and paper are my weakness so I tend to buy them a lot.

It might seem extreme but if you can determine a color palette, the welcoming feeling happens somewhat organically; when it visually appears as though everything belongs together. I purchased a small rug, faux floral arrangement {or plant if you prefer} and blanket {raise your hand if your office is freezing!} to make it feel a little more homey.
Finally, adding personal touches like family photos and travel-inspired art are a few of my personal favorite aspects when creating a curated work space. I found the majority of my desk frames at places like Hobby Lobby, Rifle Paper Co. and Home Goods.
If we have to work, it might as well be in an environment that you love and feel like is a true reflection of your personality. I hope this has helped inspire your own creative work space.
