A lot of families try to utilize the fall season to take fresh group photos. It’s a great time to leverage the autumn colors and the temperatures are typically ideal for shooting outside.
Last year I gave you a blog post that was all about my top tips that will make for family photos you’ll be excited to print and share with your loved one. If you’ve decided on the fall season but need some help coordinating looks for everyone, this is the post for you.
I tried to pick pieces that each family member would wear well beyond the photo op. I was also thoughtful about choosing affordable price points and varying the formality. Some people like to go a little more dressy with skirts and dress pants while others prefer to keep things more casual with jeans and jackets. Honestly, our family has done both and I don’t have a favorite. If you’re following my top tips to make for a successful photoshoot, the level of formality doesn’t matter as much as long as you’re matching it to your background.
One tip, regardless of how fancy you like to dress everyone, is to wear classic pieces. Skip wearing anything too trendy as you’re likely to hide those shots away sooner than those that showcase the group in timeless outfits.
Have fun and thank your photographer… they’re in their peak busy season. Bless their hearts. 😉
