Fall Transition Color Palette

I’m placing bets in my head on how much longer we have before we see a major dip in the temps here in the Midwest. I’m hoping for at least a few more weeks of warm to, dare I say, hot weather before we welcome fall. Because let’s be real – fall feels like it lasts roughly two weeks in our neck of the woods. 😉

Now is a great time to start snagging some of those end-of-season goods and summer styles that are going on major sale because our favorite retailers are clearing it all out to make room for the sweaters and leggings.

I purposefully held off on posting this particular outfit because I just knew that these shorts would be something that would go on major sale before the fall season… and I was right! These shorts are SO cute, comfortable and flattering on a wide variety of body types.

I paired them with this affordable burnt orange tank because this post is about the fall transition color palette after all. You can start to embrace autumn tones without having to wrap yourself in scarves. We’re not mentally prepared for that just yet. 😉

But keep the potential evolution of this outfit in mind for the temperatures that are to come. Want to wear these shorts into fall? They would be beyond cute with a sweater tucked into them! I would lean toward a more fitted sweater style to counter the slight over-sized look of these shorts and this one is a steal for under $15! I would still use these mules with the sweater look because they’re easy to wear and the neutral tone is so perfect for anything you may want to put on top.

As for this tank: it’s just begging to be thrown on with a high-waisted mom jean and cardigan. I can also see it with a pencil skirt for the office and a jean jacket. OR you could tuck it into a cropped work pant and a blazer.
