Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and thanks to a sponsorship with Jane.com, I’ve pulled together some Galentine’s Day gift ideas to celebrate your favorite ladies!
The significance of Galentine’s Day isn’t lost on me. Starting about two years ago, I decided to make a more conscious effort to create and invest in better friendships. This meant building new friendships with ladies that I knew would always have my back. But in my pursuit for a killer girl tribe, it had to be a two-way street: I also needed to work on being a better friend in return.
Once you have kids, it can be easy to let those gal pal relationships fall by the wayside. I definitely struggled with this. With two young kids and a husband who spends a significant amount of time traveling for work, I was struggling to maintain meaningful friendships.
After graduating from college, the built-in opportunities to make friends were gone. Yes I still had/have my ladies from high school and college days that I cherish. But many of them have moved to different part of the country making it more difficult to see each other on a regular basis.
Synopsis: Adult friendships are hard! And meaningful ones aren’t easy to come by! Our lives are busy! But now, two years after committing to creating better friendships, I can tell you: the time and effort I put into my friendships has been SO worth it.
My ladies bring support, encouragement, laughter and so much more. They fill me up in a unique way that only they can. I love them something fierce.
If you’re struggling with a similar feeling; missing female friendship because you’re exhausted from balancing your hubby/significant other, your kids, your job, etc… make a commitment to taking the time and making the effort to cultivate meaningful relationships with women who will always be in your corner.
Not sure where to begin? Join a club! Put yourself in situations where you’re guaranteed to meet women who share a common interest. If that freaks you out: start small! Join a community Facebook group to get to know some ladies before you meet in person. But then commit to making time for happy hour in person once a month.
Whether you’re sharing the love with your lady friends or you want to recognize the relationship you have with your daughter, sister, sister-in-law, mom or mother-in-law, I’ve found some amazing {and affordable!} gift ideas thanks to Jane.com and they’re all geared toward showing the amazing women in your life just how much you value them this Galentine’s Day.
