A few months back I put together my first of many closet capsule posts for you geared toward getting your ready for fall. I have the winter wardrobe capsule on my list of things to put together for you guys in the coming weeks so know that it is coming your way soon! But in the spirit of utilizing your favorite basics, I’m sharing how I styled a few of my go-to fall closet staples to create a cozy layered look that can be worn just about anywhere.
This basic v-neck sweater has been available for several years in a row and it’s made for layering. I have it in this cream color as well as the gray and at just $20 I could easily justify getting it in yet another color. I wear them often and the price point is so good!
I find myself layering this sweater under jackets a lot but I wanted to try it over a bodysuit which I’ve really liked! The benefit of a bodysuit is that it stays tucked in and this one in particular is really comfortable. If you have a longer torso you may want to consider sizing up one from your normal size.
These are my favorite dark wash skinny jeans. I’ve had them for at least three years and they’re worth every penny. The fit is great, they don’t fade and they’re incredibly soft. I added this $45 black belt to bring it all together, and really play up the black leather and gold hardware seen in the handbag.
I was looking back at the last two years of fall and winter outfits and was shocked at how little I had featured these knee-high suede boots for you! I wear them a lot and they really elevate an outfit. I bought these two years ago and they’re no longer available but I found the updated version of them as well as a few Target alternatives that are super affordable!
Playing around with closet basics to create new looks with the same go-to pieces is one of my favorite things to do regardless of season. I hope this has inspired you to revisit some of your own basics or to try out a few of mine.
