We often talk about layering for fall or winter but spring can be just as much fun when it comes to playing with layers. Layering with coats, jackets, sweaters, vests… ya know… the old standbys. We know all about that. But layering with tees and tanks? Yep. Let’s do that.
This was one even I struggled with. This was out of my comfort zone for whatever reason. I bought this velvet tank a while back (mine sold out but similar here and more linked below) with the intent of wearing it under a blazer at the office. And while that works just fine, I also purchased this basic crew neck tee with the intention of trying this layering technique.
I love playing in my closet; trying new combinations that I’ve never tried before. When I brought this new tee home, I started looking for tanks I already had in my wardrobe to try layering with. This one just works. I also like that it’s a way to wear velvet into the spring. We often think of velvet as a winter-only fabric… but I’m all about breaking rules. 😉
I have been living in these released hem distressed jeans. Pairing them with an ankle strap heel makes an otherwise casual look a little more interesting. This look is great for drinks with the ladies or a casual date night. I can’t wait for the spring temps to stick around so I can live in this combo on the weekends.
Give this spring layered look a try… even if it feels like a stretch from your comfort zone! I did it and I’m glad I did.
