There’s no season like full skirt season. {Disclaimer: for me, that season just happens to be… every season.} 😉
This particular burgundy skirt makes my heart skip a beat. It’s mainly a cotton blend so it’s extremely comfortable and warm! But beyond my love for this skirt, this outfit combines two of my favorite things:
Print Mixing
This window pane plaid is beyond versatile. Pairing it with a busier pattern, like the leopard print on these pumps, adds a little something special while also balancing the look. Using a small amount of the leopard print in the shoe ensures that you won’t feel like you’re on print overload. Print mixing is SO fun. It just takes some experimenting.
Feminine Meets Masculine
The full skirt is so soft and feminine {a little nice}, so pairing it with a ‘borrowed-from-the-boys’ cropped, fitted leather jacket {a little naughty} was the perfect choice. Given the light weight of this particular top {and the fact that I love any chance to layer}, the look just didn’t feel complete without this little leather gem. This outfit would be ideal for the office, a dressier date night, or even a holiday party.
Regardless of the occasion, it’s bound to make even the ‘girliest’ girl feel a little edgy. On the flip side, adding a harder piece in the jacket can make any woman with an aversion to skirts feel a little more comfortable while still stepping outside her comfort zone.
And this holiday season… there’s still plenty of time to choose between naughty and nice. 😉
