Dressing my baby bump gets harder and harder all of the time. Lately, I’ve been frustrated. There: I said it. I am very used to being able to pick and choose from my closet. But in the words of Regina George:
I also hate spending a lot of money on maternity clothes! You can wear them for a while postpartum but after that… they just sit in your closet taking up space. (Although they can come in quite handy as ‘holiday pants’ if you catch my drift 😉 )
During my first pregnancy, I quickly figured out how to make my closet work for me as my belly grew.
One tried and true ‘not so secret’ trick: tunics.

Tunic // Leggings {non-maternity version here} // Heels {mine sold out but similar here & here} // Bag {similar here} // Belt // Kate Spade Watch // Lip stick (shade is called ‘butter’) {similar here and here}
As someone who is constantly shopping, this habit doesn’t stop while I’m ‘body building.’ (Get it?! 😉 ) While I’m shopping throughout my pregnancy, I look for some fun tunics that I know I can continue to wear after baby has arrived. I’m trying to think spring and this floral print is really doin’ it for me. I belted it to give me some shape which is key. Tunics over a baby bump if too big can be unflattering so adding a belt for waist definition is a must. If you’re not preggers: this tunic is easily long enough to wear with leggings or without.
I’m at that point where I literally look like I’m smuggling a volleyball under my shirt (and we’re getting close to basketball people). If you have other ‘dressing the bump’ advice that you want to share with me to help me with a little everyday outfit inspiration… it’s welcomed! I’m getting closer and closer to the point in the third trimester where you just want to scream “get this thing out of me!” I’m trying to stay positive and thankful for this precious gift of life, while also looking forward to baby girl’s arrival.
