Something about fall makes us gravitate toward neutral colors. But I’m challenging you to embrace bright colors this season!
I fight the urge year-round to only purchase black, white, cream, and gray. I swear I do. As I notice myself doing that over and over again, I have to consciously seek out color for my closet. Fall is especially challenging for this because I’m just like all of you! We get into the habit of purchasing the same things but then when we go to our closets we feel like we have nothing to wear because it’s all the same.
Before I head out the door to do my shopping, regardless of the season, I remind myself not to buy things I know I already have. For me it’s those neutral colors and stripes. I can’t help myself!
I went in search of some fresh finds for autumn and I did that whole mental prep thing to avoid falling back on old ways. So instead I found that I was gravitating toward some really rich and beautiful colors that I’m seeing a lot of this season.
A few in particular? Jewel tones. Those cranberry, deep green, navy and gold colors… they’re all so good!
On one particular shopping outing I found this jacket you see here. Unfortunately I cannot find it to save my life on the Old Navy website but I’ve linked so many beautiful, colorful pieces that are just dying to be paired with some of those fall neutrals you likely already have in your closet.

Hi Christi! Unfortunately, I haven’t seen this jacket listed online! I linked the one I have seen them put on the website but definitely check your local Old Navy as I just purchased it so fingers crossed that they still have it for you!
