I know I keep saying with each season that comes around, ‘This is my favorite time to style outfits’… but I think that’s a testament to the upside of getting to experience each individual season in the Midwest. We get to enjoy it all. Feel free to remind me that I said that come the dead of winter when I’m over styling sweaters. 😉
But here we are approaching spring again and I’m ready to fully embraced my warmer weather wardrobe. I’m so excited to break out my shorts, the lighter colors and breathable fabrics.
Putting these closet capsules together each season is a great reminder for me just how much fun you can have with a core group of staples. You don’t have to have an overflowing closet in order to have a versatile wardrobe. I often hear from my family and coworkers that they rarely see me wear the same thing twice. While I do shop more than the average person, I definitely keep a lot of items that I absolutely love and can be styled a number of different ways. So in reality those who are around me probably do see a lot of the same pieces worn over and over again but I’m mixing it up to make it all feel brand new.
If you’re stuck on where to begin with this concept and how to accomplish this yourself: this post is a great place to start. I’ve pulled together 36 items that are meant to be mixed and matched throughout the season; consider this the foundation to your spring closet. If you completely buy into the closet capsule concept you’ll stick to styling and wearing only these 36 pieces. That said, if you can’t quite limit yourself to just 36 items, this serves as a great way to inspire new ways of styling pieces that you likely already have OR it helps identify gaps in your closet so you know what to buy in order to make styling existing pieces that much easier.
I’ve heard great feedback about this series so I do plan to keep doing this as each season comes around. I’m glad those of you who have shared feedback with me have enjoyed these so much and I hope you benefit from the 2022 spring closet capsule as well!
