We saw everyone and their dog sporting the overall trend this summer. Okay maybe not dogs but for sure the twinning mom and daughter combo was happening. 😉 {Yes Miss B and I have shamelessly done the twinning thing in our overalls!}
You all know I gravitate toward classic pieces. But I do love trying out different trends as they fit into my personal style. And who doesn’t love to try something a little out of the ordinary once and a while?!
Overalls are definitely a trend that won’t last forever but they tend to make a comeback over and over again. I loved seeing how people were styling them for summer {I did a little of that myself during some of our summer travels} but I was most excited to grab a pair of my own so I could style them for fall!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: trends are great to try but the trendy pieces aren’t the ones to spend a lot of money on. I’m all about investing in classic closet staples but if a trendy piece isn’t under $50 then I’m likely not going to make the purchase. If it’s under $50? Then I’m on board. So when I found this pair of overalls I knew I could feel good about snagging them for my closet.
When it comes to wearing overalls for fall, there’s no need to overthink it. Put on a sweater (really of any color or neckline) and some casual shoes for the perfect weekend look. I opted for a classic cream crew neck sweater and pulled it off one shoulder.
Another great styling option for these bad boys is to throw a basic crew or v-neck, long sleeve tee {like this one or this one} under them and then add a chunky, over-sized cardigan over it all for a more layered look.
Afraid to try out the overall trend? Keep in mind: the price point on these is too good not to at least give it a try! I think you’ll be surprised by how you feel once you’ve slipped them on. And at an under $50 price point… can you afford not to give them a try?!
