Summer Staples

While I’ve been dressing up to go into the office every day, I’ve basically been living in shorts and a t-shirt or tank top as much as humanly possible outside of work. I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed warm weather.

Keeping things casual in the summer time is definitely one of my favorite parts about the season. Jean shorts and sneakers every day? Sign me up.

I’ve been wearing the same summer closet staples on repeat for most of June and I’m not looking to let up. I can’t tell you how much I value my warm weather wardrobe year after year. It can be easy to justify cheaping out on things like jean shorts and sneakers but I’ve learned that having some investment versions that you break out year after year really does pay off.

I tend not to spend quite as much on tanks and tees because the styles change significantly more often than what you find with shorts and casual footwear. If you’re going to save on something: save on your summer tops.

I’m heading out of town in a few days to enjoy a friend-centered getaway so all of these pieces will be traveling with me as I’m sure to need this easy-to-throw-on look.
