It’s been a while since I styled a core closet staple two different ways so here we are! I truly believe that the most stylish individuals wear timeless pieces but style them in countless different ways to achieve fresh looks. You don’t need a huge closet to be a style goddess. 😉
I’ve shared my rational behind my rational of not putting a lot of money toward seasonal pieces that will really only last you one or two seasons. Sweaters are one of those items where I can’t get behind spending more than $50 unless you’re investing in cashmere.
I am one to find super affordable sweaters that I can style a million different ways during cold weather months but then I don’t feel bad about refreshing them once the next fall or winter season rolls around.
This particular one is only $15 and I wish I had purchased it in a couple more colors because it’s so versatile it’s crazy.
This week I’ve styled it in a layered look for the office. Yes it’s cold but if you plan your layers properly, you don’t have to be weighted down by a heavy winter coat.
I was plenty warm in this outfit with a basic white button up, the real MVP of winter {this sweater}, a plaid scarf and my favorite herringbone blazer. And while sweaters are worth refreshing year over year, invest is a really good pair of black skinny jeans that can be dressed up or down. If you buy a good pair: they won’t fade. I’ve had these for at least three years and they look as good as the day I bought them!
Next week I’ll have a fresh outfit inspiration photo for you that will feature this same sweater but in a more casual execution.
Let’s hope we’re actually getting closer to those warmer spring temps where we can wear a sweater without our huge coats!
