February marked two years since I started Midwest In Style. While this blog has been such an incredibly fun and rewarding hobby for me, I still go through phases of creative drought. I get stuck in ruts of wearing the same thing over and over.
Full disclosure: I’m coming out of a rut. I found myself looking in my closet and lacking inspiration. I found myself drawn to the same styles, colors and designs. The good news: I’m fully aware of it.
This might sound completely ridiculous but half of the battle is just realizing it’s happening! Lately I’ve been wearing stripes, white and light blue. Not a bad thing… just… boring! Mix it up, Maren!
As soon as I recognized the loop I was on, I did a couple of thing: I went to Pinterest to look for some inspiration, I cleaned out my closet to make room, and then I hopped onto some of my favorite online shopping sites to get to work. Out with the old and boring – in with the new and different.
What I found was this adorable off-the-shoulder top. The color is perfect for spring and if you read my recent post about my love for eyelet lace… you know that’s what made me pull the trigger.
This look is perfect for any warm weekend of adventures. I also recently purchased these jeans and have been wearing them non-stop! The fit is amazing and the cuff is so cute with a wide variety of shoes. While these heels, although beautiful, might not be for everyone: just swap them out for these guys for a more casual style.
You’re looking at the outfit I plan to wear on Monday for my birthday date with my hubby! The best news for you – this ENTIRE outfit is fully in stock! You can shop all of these exact items pictured in the ‘shop the look’ below.
The next birthday girl is Blakely! But before we celebrate her first birthday, we are excited to celebrate our first Easter with Miss B. (If you haven’t gotten your baskets ready… I’ve got you covered in this post.)
Happy early Easter to you all!
