It’s off the charts hot here and the only thing getting me through this work week is the thought of my upcoming weekend plans. My middle sister gets married in September and we will be spending the weekend celebrating her bachelorette party! I am so excited to surround her with love and good time alongside her gal pals.
I’ve been prepping my outfits for this experience since early spring (shocking to no one). It has been a while since I’ve shared a “what’s in my bag” post so I thought it would be fun to share my must-haves for a ladies-only summer getaway. It’s also a little sneak peek at what I will be wearing for my sister’s bachelorette party festivities.
| GIRLS’ WEEKEND PACKING LIST |
2 tanks – one dressy / one casual
2 shorts – one dressy / one casual
2 Swimsuits – one bikini / one one-piece
2 light-weight sweaters – one cardigan / one pull-over
2 shoes – one heel / one sandal
Striped tee (mine on sale for under $20!)
The best part about all of these pieces is that they can all be mixed and matched so depending on weather and my mood I can switch up the combo.
We’re heading to Okoboji, IA to enjoy a cabin and boat Friday through Sunday. It’s crazy to think that the next time this group will be together after this weekend will be to celebrate her wedding! She’s going to be such a stunning bride… just thinking about it makes me cry… so incredibly happy for her and her future hubby.
FYI on the #NSALE
Side note for what’s to come on Midwest In Style later this week and in the coming weeks: it’s that time again, folks! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (#NSale) launches early access on July 13th! Yes… that’s tomorrow! To gain early access to the sale, you must be a Nordstrom Cardholder. Is it actually worth it to get the card just for the sale? YES. This is the sale of all sales.
It works backwards. Typical sales are on items that have been available for a while and are only discounted toward the end of the season. But THIS sale is meant to get you ready for fall. All of the sale items are fresh and will be discounted before they are listed at their higher full-retail pricing. So it pays to shop early and if there’s something you love – get it. The hot items (and there are a lot of them… at deep discounts!) go very quickly.
I will have posts for early access to highlight things I’m loving at the very beginning of the sale. Shop as early as you can! For those of you who are not interested in being Nordstrom Cardholders, the sale opens to the public on July 21st. This sale features womens, mens, kids, shoes, handbags, accessories and home items (just to name a few!). I will have posts on it all… so stay tuned!
