Where for Work Wear

One of the biggest transitions in life is the one made from a full time student to a full time working adult. It’s also one of the biggest transitions for your closet.

I mean, think about it. What did you wear to class? If you were anything like me, you wore extremely casual and comfy clothes on campus. Even when I wasn’t in a classroom or the library, I dressed like a young adult headed to the bars… because well… I was! #collegememories

When I got a full time job, I had VERY few items already in my closet to wear in a professional environment. It took me years to build my work wardrobe. It also took me a while to figure out where/how to shop for work wear.

Here are a few of my favorite places to shop for great and affordable work clothes, and the staples that I tend to find at each store.

Loft : skirts (like the one I’m wearing above!) / casual tees (perfect for work to weekend styling) / shoes (like the pair I’m wearing above!)

J.Crew Factory : pants / blouses / cardigans

Express : button up shirts / tanks (for layering under cardigans & jackets) / blazers
