Same pant. Same top. Different blog post to bring you a completely different look.
I’m here to show you how seemingly the same outfit can totally change with thoughtful effort put into the details. Accessories are where you can change everything about your look.
Last week, I styled this very same top and pants but for the office. While I love putting together cute outfits for work, I would much rather get in the mindset of a getaway. I’m in major need of a vacation!
I would hope by now I’ve convinced you that you need this top. Oh and these pants. Yes you need both – like for real. Get them. They’re must-haves for your closet. You’ll thank me later.
But beyond the core pieces you’re seeing here… look past them for a moment. What makes this ensemble different from last week is all in, what my favorite journalism professor used to call, “the minute particulars.” The small details make all of the difference.
Let’s address the shoes for a moment because I’ve been putting off buying these beauties for no less than two years. Finally, I just couldn’t resist them any longer. They haven’t been in my closet for more than a month now and they’ve already been styled more than a dozen ways. Pair these with jeans, work pants, dresses, skirts… you name it!
And then: the basket satchel. This trend started at least a year ago, if not longer and the momentum of this bag isn’t slowing down anytime soon. I love tying different scarves on the handle to pull colors out of the rest of the outfit.
As for the hat: you don’t have to be a hat person but if you were to flirt with being a hat person, there’s no better time than on a vacation!
I’m looking forward to the vacation we have planned in early June! We haven’t had a warm weather escape in years and it’s long overdue. I will share more details and what I’m packing in an upcoming post soon so stay tuned!
I want to know what locations are on your bucket list so share them in the comment section below! I have travel fever so I need to start thinking about what comes next. 😉
