Winter can be a challenging season to navigate when it comes to our wardrobe. If you’re anything like me you’re trying to achieve optimal practicality without losing style. I need warm pieces, sensible shoes and I still want to look cute. Good luck 😉
I think it’s still possible and this post is where I’ve rounded up a large number of pieces that can help you achieve practical style during the cold. You’ll notice that the emphasize is mostly on shirts. In part this is because this is the perfect time for layering. I love a good jacket so this time of year I’m spending a lot of time outfit planning around my favorite jackets, blazers and vests.
As for pants: I’ve included the stand-by’s that are perfect year round. I wear the dress pants and jeans you’ll see below with just about anything in my closet which makes them some of the best pieces in my closet. The cost per wear is definitely worth it.
As for shoes, I kept my selections pretty tight as well. You might question the inclusion of some heels but keep in mind, if you need to wear heels in your work setting, I highly encourage wearing practical boots to the office and keeping your favorite and most versatile heels at your desk to slip into once you’re safely in the building.
If you’re looking for a more casual approach to work wear in the winter months, I also encourage you to check out the winter closet capsule from last year. While I haven’t had time to update it, it’s still helpful to give you an idea of what to look for to help you build a closet of mix-and-match items.
