Work to Weekend Sandals

The best work to weekend sandals are comfort and versatility. When I’m getting dressed in the morning I need shoes that I can grab as I’m running out the door that complete my outfit. I don’t have time to consider if I’m going to kill my feet/back while wearing them throughout my day.

Stocking up on work appropriate shoes can be a challenge in the Midwest because you essentially need two ‘”rounds” of shoes for the seasons. I feel like I have two sets of shoes: one for spring/summer and another for fall/winter.

With summer sandals these are my musts: I need them to be work appropriate but casual/comfortable enough for me to dress down on the weekends. Since I already have the two “rounds” of shoes… I can’t have a whole other set just for weekend wear! I also need to be able to throw on a basic t-shirt and pencil skirt, and use a pair of fun/bright shoes to dress up the look.

Here are some of my current favorites with advice on how to wear them to work and play:

These Wedges meet all standards! Comfy, versatile and affordable! You can’t beat a sandal that’s less than $30! These Michael Kors Wedges (on sale!) are another similar option but have the espadrille look, which I tend to prefer to the cork heel.

I love Steve Madden and this Steve Madden sandal (similar Express block heel sandal) is perfect with a skirt or crops for work but would also be amazing with your favorite flares for the weekend. This Nine West wood wedge (on sale!) is another great option (and I’m loving the grey accent with the cognac!) Here’s a great flat from Steve Madden. Flat sandals I find difficult because not everyone finds them work appropriate but I think, if done right, they’re fine. I would wear these with crops or on casual Fridays, and they’re perfect with any pair of shorts or destroyed boyfriend jeans Saturday through Sunday.

This Chinese Laundry espadrille wedge (on sale!) is a higher heel than some other wedges previously mentioned but since they’re such a great price point I couldn’t leave them out! These would complete any summer dress for work and could be dressed down with jeans.

I’m loving this Steve Madden ankle strap sandal for a pop of color. This wedge is another perfect color-accent shoe choice and is extremely affordable.
